Khulisa Hosts U.S. Ambassador Luis CdeBaca for Discussion on Human Trafficking and the 2010 World Cup

On July 10th, 2009 Khulisa Management Services hosted senior officials from the U.S. State Department including U.S. Ambassador Luis CdeBaca and Mr. Mark Taylor, the Director and Senior Coordinator of the Office to Monitor and Combat Trafficking in Persons. The discussion focused on strategies to combat child and human trafficking throughout Africa, particularly concerning preparations for the 2010 FIFA Soccer World Cup to be hosted in South Africa.
Khulisa shared their community-oriented experiences and knowledge of combating human and child trafficking and exploitation in Africa with Ambassador CdeBaca. Khulisa’s experts discussed good practices identified from involvement in projects including the U.S. State Department funded Community Mitigating Against Trafficking (CMAT), and the U.S Department of Labor’s funded project Reducing Exploitative Child Labour in Southern Africa (RECLISA).
