Data quality services


In order for Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) to facilitate programme changes and improvements, collected data must have validity, integrity, reliability, precision, and timeliness, and it must be simple to collect and easy to interpret.

Khulisa began conducting Data Quality Assessments (DQAs) in 2003, and since then has undertaken more than 100 DQAs for donors and the South African Government.


Khulisa’s DQA approach is rooted in Total Quality Management principles and ISO 9001 Internal Quality Auditing methodologies that examine internal organisational systems , processes or procedures against pre-determined standards for quality.

Our methodology reflects our belief in collaborative review processes and capacity building, by enhancing clients’ and partners’ understanding and knowledge about data management systems and data quality, as well as in assisting them to develop appropriate tools and internal data quality checks to maximise their own data quality.
