Khulisa seeks a qualified and experienced Monitoring and Learning Director for the USAID/ Enhancing Nutrition Monitoring, Evaluation, Research, and Learning in the Health Sector (NuMERAL). The Monitoring and Learning Director will provide overarching support across the monitoring and learning activities throughout the life of the contract.
This is a full-time position based in South Africa and contingent upon a project award to Khulisa.
Qualifications/Experience
- Master’s degree in nutrition science, public health, demography, statistics, social sciences, or a related field.
- Minimum 10 years of experience on international health projects, including experience in nutrition monitoring, evaluation, research, and learning for large, multi-year international health sector development projects.
- Proven expertise in quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis methodologies, implementation research approaches, health management information systems, data visualization and reporting.
- Ability to translate research and evidence collected from the project to policy and research.
- Demonstrate ability to work and coordinate effectively with a wide variety of stakeholders, including national and local governments, civil society organizations, private sector representatives, and local communities.
- Familiarity with quality of reproductive, maternal, newborn, child, and adolescent health and nutrition projects and policies.
- Experience working in Sub-Saharan Africa and/or South Asia especially in Francophone and/or Lusophone countries.
- Ability to coordinate stakeholders working across different countries.
- Familiarity with USAID’s multi-sectoral nutrition, reproductive, maternal, newborn, child, and adolescent health and health system strengthening approaches and gender programming.
- Demonstrated outstanding leadership, strategic thinking, organizational, team building, and presentation skills.
- English language skills are required; French and/or Portuguese proficiency is desirable.
- Must be willing to travel throughout Africa.
