Evaluators Leslie Fierro and colleagues wrote an incredible beginner-friendly evaluation e-textbook titled “Planting the Seeds for High-Quality Program Evaluation in Public Health”. Evaluation is recognized as an essential service of public health. As a result of gaps in training, public health practitioners can find themselves in a situation where they are planning and conducting evaluations or commissioning and monitoring evaluation contracts without the skills and knowledge they need to fulfill the job.
