Online (3-module) DQA Course

Khulisa designed and delivered a comprehensive online course entitled “Data Quality Fundamentals” four times from 2021 and 2024.  Designed and taught by experienced Khulisa staff, the three-module course equipped participants with tools and skills to implement data quality procedures, improving data reliability and confidence in reporting, and strengthened participants’ capacity in ensuring high-quality M&E data, emphasizing practical application in real-world contexts.

The course was attended by a wide range of M&E professionals, project managers, and programme staff across NGOs, governments, and donor organizations.

Core Content & Objectives

  1. Introduction to Data Quality Concepts.  Participants gain exposure to key dimensions of data quality—accuracy, consistency, completeness, timeliness—and why these matter for decision-making.
  2. Designing Robust Data Management Systems.  Participants learn to design and review data collection tools and protocols—such as surveys, monitoring systems, spreadsheets—to prevent common errors before and during data collection.
  3. Conducting Data Quality Assessments.  Practical techniques for implementing various DQA methods—such as audits, routine checks, data supervision, and corrective actions—are covered, giving participants hands-on guidance to strengthen their data processes

This course is a strong example of Khulisa’s approach to building capacity in monitoring and evaluation—practical, participatory, and grounded in field-tested methods.
