As the 78th annual U.N. General Assembly (UNGA) opens in New York City this week, Khulisa is keeping an eye on progress toward the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This year marks the halfway point in the life of the 17 SDGs, which were adopted at the 2015 UNGA and slated for completion 15 years later. Yet in 2023, data show the world is not on track to achieve the SDGs by 2030.

Secretary-General António Guterres addresses the opening of the SDG Action Weekend on September 16, 2023.

Many Khulisa projects are centered on various SDGs – Zero Hunger (Goal #2); Good Health and Wellbeing (Goal #3); Quality Education (Goal #4); Affordable and Clean Energy (Goal #7); and Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions (Goal #16), among many others – and on measuring progress toward achieving the SDGs. We’re watching the UNGA SDG Summit, and we’re committed to achieving as much as possible over the next seven years and beyond.
