SAMEA recently published its 6th Biennial Conference report. Reflecting on Khulisa’s experience at SAMEA, senior health associate, Puveshni Crozier captured her five takeaways from the Conference:

 

  1. Stakeholder mapping and engagement is key to meeting expectations of evaluations
  2. Institutionalised engagement between programme and M&E staff is critical for continuous quality improvement
  3. Repetitive feedback and capacity building at service delivery points around data quality improves use of data for decision making
  4. Integration, analysis and visualisation of multiple data streams improves uptake of data for decision-making
  5. The goals of the health information management systems are to generate high quality data and to use data for decision making
