Khulisa is delighted to announce that the South African Department of Basic Education (DBE) will launch reading benchmarks for the Sesotho-Setswana language family, Afrikaans, and English First Additional Language (EFAL) at a virtual event on November 9, 2022.
These reading benchmarks are a direct result of the work Khulisa and its partners did under Task Order 4 of the Practical Education Research for Optimal Reading and Management: Analyze, Collaborate, Evaluate (PERFORMANCE) contract for the U.S. Agency for International Development. Learn more about reading benchmarks and their importance in this 2020 Khulisa blog post.
The launch will be livestreamed on the DBE YouTube channel, starting at 9:00 a.m. (GMT+2) on the 9th. Please tune in!
