Mobilizing young and emerging evaluators (YEEs) is a major goal of the #Eval4Action Campaign, a United Nations (UN) initiative seeking to “promote widespread recognition on evaluation being critical to, and a key accelerator for achieving the Global Goals.” In conjunction with Khulisa’s “Walk the Talk” blog post recently published on the #Eval4Action blog, we’re providing some tips and resources for YEEs who want to participate in the global collaboration on evaluation.

Over the last few years, many networks and initiatives have emerged to support YEEs in their efforts to advance the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Our favorite YEE resources include:

1.       EvalYouth, a global network founded as part of EvalPartners to support and promote YEEs around the world. EvalYouth has more than two dozen regional and national chapters worldwide, working on various task forces to elevate the voices of YEEs. YEEs in any part of the world can join EvalYouth as volunteer members. You can also start a new EvalYouth chapter in your own country.

2.       The P2P Career + Advisory for Emerging Evaluators, part of the European Evaluation Society, seeks to boost YEEs’ careers through online, informal, peer-to-peer advisory sessions. The initiative seeks to provide advice on how emerging evaluators can grow their careers and offer a space where YEEs can share their work challenges. Learn more on the P2P website.

 3.       Evaluation Activation, an initiative by and for YEEs (including some Khulisa YEEs), is currently conducting a series of training sessions designed to accelerate career development for YEEs in Africa. There are still two sessions left: one today (August 23) and one on August 25. Sign up now!
