The World Bank’s Women, Business and the Law 2020 report uses eight indicators to measure the legal differences between men and women as they move through the stages of working life: mobility, workplace, pay, marriage, parenthood, entrepreneurship, assets and pension. Each indicator includes four to five simple yes-no questions. Under ‘workplace’ for example, the indicator asks whether country laws prohibit employment discrimination based on gender, or whether sexual harassment policies are in place.

Khulisa loves the set of indicators because they are clear, actionable and comparable across 190 countries. It’s also visualised in a great manner.
